Where do you hang your food in the Boundary Waters?
You can’t talk about food in the Boundary Waters without talking about bears. The traditional wisdom is to hang your food from a tree branch so that it’s at least 30 feet off the ground and 10 feet from the trunk. This may help deter a lazy bear, but if a bear wants that food bag, they’re going to get it. I rarely hang my food.

Boundary Waters offers a full service bar. Come for a beer, wine or cocktail in our comfortable lodge themed bar area. Thursdays we offer $3 "You Call It" Mixed Drinks. Saturdays have a DJ with Karaoke with Wild Bill's DJ Service from 9pm - 1am. Friday and Saturday feature our own long islands, margaritas or electric lemonades for $4.
What do boundary water outfitters use?
Boundary Waters Outfitters uses high quality, fresh and freeze dried foods from Cache Lake's Foods and Zups Market. We pack the same foods when we're camping as found in our menu, so you know we have selected the tastiest morsels for you to choose from. To custom design your menu, place either an "x" or the desired number of days you would like that meal next to each item your group selects. Meals may be selected more than once. Every member of the party eats the same meal. This Menu is just for the food that will be packed for your trip. The First Breakfast is for the first morning on trail, not the continental breakfast before your trips begins!
