I can go to just about any restaurant in the city in jeans EXCEPT Canlis. It's "dressy", that's part of the atmosphere and ambience, since 1950. They have a very clear dress code, and to my knowledge require, at the minimum, a coat for men. My husband always wears a coat + tie when dining there.
