History
In 1975, Juan Francisco Ochoa opened the restaurant in Guasave, Sinaloa, Mexico. The restaurant expanded throughout the northern region of Mexico by 1979. The first American El Pollo Loco store opened in 1980 on Alvarado Street in Los Angeles, California. The store soon became a local favorite.
