Does CPS still offer summer food service?
Summer Meals Program Through the Summer Food Service Program, CPS will continue to offer a variety of nutritious meals to anyone age 18 and younger throughout the summer. Meal kits containing multiple meals will be available at over 260 locations throughout the city. Children do not need to be present and families can take meal kits home.

Are meals free in Chicago Public Schools?
Chicago Public Schools offers free, nutritionally balanced breakfast, lunch, and snacks to all students. CPS is excited to announce participation in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) for School Year 2021-22. This means that meals will be available at no cost to all enrolled students.
When can you pick up food in Chicago Public Schools?
Parents, guardians, and students can pick up meals at more than 260 schools, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., June 28 to August 20 (schedules are subject to change and may vary from school to school).

The summer meal distribution schedule is Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm from June 28 to August 20th.

11/25/2020 - J. Smith I was already annoyed by the wait time. The food came out, unseasoned, barely warm, soggy and had a weird taste. I was then appalled to learn that my fish was cooked in tne microwave!!!!! Come to find out most of their food is.cooked that way. Horrifying. This is not a place to eat if you care about your food quality.
