What are the components of a school lunch?

School lunches are made up of five (5) components: a meat/meat alternate, bread/grain, fruit, vegetable and a milk. Students are required to take three (3) of these components; one must be a half-cup of fruit or vegetable for the meal to count as an approved (reimbursable) “school lunch.”
