When does EMS ISD start serving free meals?

USDA has issued a nationwide waiver allowing the EMS ISD Child Nutrition Department to serve free meals to students 18 years of age or younger beginning October 1. This includes the government approved breakfast and lunch served daily at all grade levels.

This meal benefit waiver runs through June 1, 2021 . Please still apply for meal benefits at emsisd.schoollunchapp.com or a paper application can be requested from your school’s front office. EMS ISD School Board Calls May 7 Bond Election

Early voting in the May 2022 election begins April 25 and continues through May 3. Election Day is Saturday, May 7. The last day to register to vote by Election Day is April 7.

Can you charge a la carte in elementary school?

Students will not be allowed to charge any al a carte items. Elementary schools do sell a la carte items (water, ice cream, etc) that the students are able to purchase. If you do not want your child to purchase a la carte items you can ask the cafeteria manager to block these sales on your child’s account.

Students on the free and reduced lunch program may deposit money into their account for a la carte, snack or extra foods. Middle Schools. The BANK-A-MEAL programs at the secondary schools work the same with the exception that personal ID numbers are used to access their accounts.
