Is the Gunder Burger coming back to Iowa?
I talked with the new owner Dave Farmer this morning, and he shared with me that the once famous Gunder Burger has returned to the menu. The Iowa favorite consists of a one-pound, hand-pattied burger made with fresh Iowa beef and is topped with cheese, or whatever other burger toppings you prefer.

There is no official website or Facebook page for Gunder Roadhouse just yet, but if you have any questions, feel free to call the restaurant at (563) 864-2030. Dave says they have a hometown crew that's ready to serve you! I will definitely be taking a road trip to Gunder this summer!
When did Wonderburger #3 open?
Eleven years later, on May 22nd, 1969 WONDERBURGER #3 opened its doors at 11045 South Kedzie-across the street from #2. Late one night in mid-May, Bill, his son Mike and several sturdy employees and friends pushed the 8 stool counter across Kedzie Avenue when traffic permitted.
When did the Wonderburger fire start in Greenwood?
Mt. Greenwood's first exposure to WONDERBURGERS and CURLY 'Q" fires was on March 8, 1954, at Bill Grant's WONDERBURGER #1 at 3256 W.111th Street. "Moose" Bowen, Bill's boss from "Superburger" on 85th Place and Stony Island Avenue (where Bill was employed part-time) flipped the first WONDERBURGER on the grill and wished him good luck.
