Cafe Regatta is housed in a small wooden cabin, which was originally a fishing hut brought in from the Finnish countryside, with a sloping roof and lovely finishings and located right on the Baltic Sea. Inside, it is filled with a cornucopia of statuettes, memorabilia, photographs, oars and other curiosities.

Who owns Sikke's restaurant?

Sikke’s is a restaurant owned by two famous Finnish chefs, Sikke Sumari and Pipsa Hurmerinta . The decor is charming, and the food even more delicious. Prices are moderate. A place where you can spend hours! One of my favorites in town.

The first thing you will hear if you walk into any restaurant is “do you have a reservation?”. Now, this doesn’t mean you always need one but it ’s a very Finnish thing to do to reserve a table especially in the evenings.

1. Savotta Restaurant

What could be better than a traditional dinner with a view of Helsinki Cathedral?! Savotta Rivantola is located right in the heart of Senate Square and many of their tables have a jaw dropping view of the cities iconic attraction.

2. Ateljee Bar

I absolutely love sky bars in any city as it’s always better to drink cocktails with a view. Ateljee Bar is located on top of Sokos Hotel Torni and provides birds eye panoramic views.

3. Café Regatta

I challenge you to find a more cute café in Helsinki than Café Regatta! It looks like it’s been transported from Santa on his sleigh straight from Lapland!

4. Löyly

Sauna culture is part of the Finland identity, they invented them after all and gave us the word to use around the globe.

6. Allas Sea Pools

Another sauna experience sitting right on the edge of the Baltic Sea by Suomenlinna island ferry port is Allas Sea Pools. It gets its name from the pool that is filled up from the sea.
