When we opened Juan’s just before Mardi Gras in 1997, it was with the realization that there was not much in ultra-casual dining in New Orleans. We started out as a value oriented Mission-style punk rock burrito joint with an “all fresh food” attitude, including many vegetarian options, a rarity in town at the time.
