What are the dining halls at Judson University?
Judson University and Fresh Ideas are pleased to offer an inclusive dining program. Students can enjoy meals at the Betty Lindner Dining Hall, Riverside Cafe, and Jerry's Cafe.
Where is the Judson Dining Hall?
The Judson Dining Hall, located in the Lower Commons area of the Betty Lindner Campus Commons , serves meals seven days a week to the Judson community and guests. A variety of food options are available including main courses, a salad bar, cafe specialties, international cuisine, and vegetarian, dairy-free and gluten-free options. Meal plans are available for resident and commuter students and special deals are available to faculty, staff, and commuters who wish to load Eagle Bucks to their ID card. Guests are also welcome and can pay by cash or personal check at the door (costs vary by meal). Residential freshmen and transfers are only eligible for the 19 a week meal plan or 14 a week meal plan for their first year at Judson.

Where is Jerry's Cafe?
Jerry's Cafe, located on the main floor in the Harm A. Weber Academic Center (HAWAC), is a full service coffee, espresso, and smoothie cafe proudly serving locally sourced coffee products. If you want to get a premium quality drink served with a smile without having to leave campus, stop by Jerry's today!
Can you bring food outside in the dining hall?
To accommodate for people with allergies, outside food is not allowed in the Dining Hall. Seating for those wishing to bring their own food is available in the Upper Commons or outside, weather permitting.
What is Judson ISD's nutrition department?
Judson ISD Child Nutrition Department menus are planned by a registered dietitian with a goal of providing a variety of nourishing student friendly menu items at an affordable price. Menu items offered are based on student input through the Student Nutrition Advisory Committee (SNAC). The SNAC committee is composed of 20-30 students from each grade level, all around the district. The committee members meet with the registered dietitian twice a year to provide their opinions and requests on current and future menus.
What is Judson ISD?
Judson ISD is committed to ensuring that each student enjoys a nutritious and tasty meal. We strive to provide trendy and popular menu items and flavor profiles that students crave. Our recipes and food preparation techniques have been modified to reduce the fat, trans fat, salt and sugar content of the meals, while maintaining the required level of essential nutrients. Healthy meal preparation techniques involve baking, steaming, and braising to reduce the fat content of the meals. We do not fry any of our menu selections. We also offer lower fat or reduced fat condiments, sauces, gravies, cheeses, pepperoni, and lean ground beef. Every day students can select from a variety of skim milks, whole grain products, fruits packed in their own juice or light syrup, and a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables that are offered.
What time does the Child Nutrition Department open?
Any specific information needed concerning ingredients in food products and recipes can be obtained by contacting the Child Nutrition department during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00pm.
Does Judson ISD have breakfast?
All Judson ISD schools offer FREE breakfast to all students all year long. Breakfast menus are designed to meet ΒΌ of the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDA's). Lunch is also offered at all campuses. The menus over a school week provide less than 30% fat and 10 saturated fat while providing 1/3 of the RDA's for students at lunch. These requirements are based on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
