Established in 1872, L'Hirondelle remains true to its original mission of being "a club formed by friends for the purpose of creating a place in which they and their families can gather for social and athletic activities in a gracious and intimate atmosphere." L’Hirondelle provides its membership with resort-style racquet and aquatics facilities as well as excellent dining and social event offerings..

L'Hirondelle is one of the few remaining clubs in the Baltimore area able to boast about their own duckpin bowling alleys.

L'Hirondelle has developed a relationship with Country Club of Maryland so our members can play on this local course, with all charges being billed to member’s L’Hirondelle’s account. Additional guidelines include:
Process
All membership are by invitation only and are available to those qualified people who are sponsored by one current member and seconded by another current member. Membership applications will be provided to the Proposer (sponsor), who is responsible for directing the applicant through the membership process.
Types
All membership initiation fees and monthly dues are based on the age of the member.
SINGLE MEMBERSHIP
All unmarried members who do not have legal custody of any minor child or any unmarried children between the ages of 18 and 29 shall have single memberships.
