Antioxidants

Antioxidants are powerful compounds found in healthy food that help your body defend against the oxidation process, a normal byproduct of bodily functions, like metabolizing food. However, these reactions still produce damaging molecules called “Free Radicals.”

Gluten

Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley and rye, which gives bread its structure. For most, gluten is perfectly safe. However, those with Celiac Disease endure an autoimmune reaction when they ingest gluten, which interferes with nutrient absorption, among other things.

Free Radicals

Free Radicals are molecules with an odd number of electrons. They are reactive and can cause damage to surrounding molecules during their quest for another electron. However, food with essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants minimize the proliferation of Free Radicals.

Detoxification

While antioxidants scrub the rust off our internal organs, so to speak, detoxification acts more like a powerful hose that flushes toxins out of your system. When given the proper fuel with proper nutrition, your body is well-equipped to flush out toxins and keep those free radicals in check.

Pre-Biotics & Pro-Biotics

Pre- and pro-biotics may sound like one and the same, but the two are actually quite different. Pre-biotics are foods, typically high in fiber, that are ingested with the hopes of improving one’s balance of microorganisms.

Protein

Protein plays several crucial roles in our bodies. Most notably, it is the foundation for our muscles; it enables necessary chemical reactions to occur during digestion; and, for hemoglobins, it helps carry oxygen in the blood.
