Mary's grandsons Steven and Michael showed up to help their aging grandmother run the business. Shortly after getting help from her grandsons, Mary began to suffer memory loss. She was later diagnosed with dementia. In 1985 Steven and Michael were given the reigns of the business.

This woman's name was Mary Spadero. She was the daughter of two Italian immigrants looking for a better life in the United States. Mary used a recipe that she and her mother had hand crafted over the years. The initial workers were her husband Carmen and her daughter Rosiland.

Did Mary's Pizza have a fryer?

Instead of just selling pizzas, Steven and Michael decided to add a fryer for wings and other fried foods. They also brought on an Italian bread, called foccia. Mary lived just long enough to see the new changes as she passed away in 2002. Mary's Pizza also opened for lunch once the new building was opened.
