We're moving towards more freshly prepared food in the district. At our middle and high schools, we're upgrading equipment and training staff to prepare more meals in-house. As facilities are upgraded to prepare and serve fresh food, our procurement practices can improve as well.

Heat and Serve Meals

SFUSD partners with Revolution Foods to provide meals to schools with limited kitchen facilities. Revolution Foods sources high-quality ingredients and all meals are free of artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, MSG, benzoates, bromates, sulfites, hydrogenated fat, BHA, BHT, TBHQ and sodium nitrites/nitrates.

Fresh Fruits & Vegetables

Meals come with a variety of seasonal fruit and fresh vegetables. We strive to source local and sustainable products whenever possible. Recently, we've served California-grown peaches, plums, melons, and organic strawberries!

Beverages

Meals come with a choice of 1% or fat-free milk. Milk substitutions are available.

How to pick up meals for a child 18?

To pick up meals for a child 18 and younger (who is not enrolled in SFUSD, and is not a sibling of an SFUSD student): Provide the child’s first name , last name, and birthdate to receive a yellow grab-and-go card at any meal site below.

Can you pick up a bag of food at SFUSD?

No: Pick up 7 days worth of meals. Yes: Your Grab and Go meal bag will have 2 days worth of meals. All students attending in-person SFUSD summer programs will be offered a healthy lunch and hearty snack at school.
