South of Beale, known by most as SOB, is opening a second restaurant, East of Beale.

Owners Ed and Brittany Cabigao have converted Interim restaurant at 5040 Sanderlin Ave. into an East Memphis outpost of their popular Downtown eatery.

Is SOB east a good place to eat?

I was able to check out SOB East for lunch, which was an excellent choice. We had reservations for 11:30 which was shortly after they opened. There were plenty of empty tables when we arrived, so we could have easily just walked in and got seated right away. The restaurant was cute, bright and open.

What is new at SOB east?

SOB East will offer contactless payment via a phone QR code, as well as an upgraded online ordering platform for takeout. Enhancements like wine pairing ideas and menu suggestions will also be added to the order platforms. The restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

What color are the walls in a windowless room?

In its place are modern tables and chairs with splashes of bright yellow. To brighten the windowless room, the walls have been painted white and the walls between the main dining room and the side dining space on the far side of the room have been opened up.
