UCR dining is now cashless at all campus dining locations. We won Silver for a new retail concept, Emerbee's, and we won Bronze for our catering special event, "Taste of Citrus Grove." These are our first two NACUFS Horton Awards!
What is a guest-meal pass at UCR?
Some locations offer Halal chicken and gluten-free options. Treat a friend or family member to a meal at one of our Residential Restaurants. Some Dining Plans include free guest meal passes. A guest-meal pass is equivalent to one meal swipe. Guest meal passes are not valid at UCR retail dining locations.

Does UC Riverside have good food?
The food is pretty good for the most part. It's a lot better than high school cafeteria food. The dining halls offer a variety of food, such as Thai, Chinese, Indian, Vegetarian, Mexican, and even regular American food like hamburgers and french fries.
Do UCR dining dollars roll over?
Unused Dining Dollars roll over to the next quarter during the contract period, but must be used by the end of the academic year. They do NOT carry over to the summer or next year, and are non-transferable. Dining Plans may only be changed during the first two weeks of the academic year.
Can you use dining dollars at UCR bookstore?
By adding Bear Bucks, R'Blocks and/or Dining Dollars (for those with meal plans), the R'Card can be used for payment at: The UCR Bookstore.
Is Glasgow open UCR?
Glasgow is open to all faculty, staff, students, and visitors for lunch service.
Do UCR dining dollars expire?
Unlike Bear Bucks, Dining Dollars expire at the end of the academic year. Meal Plans with missing Dining Dollars can be corrected by contacting housinginfo@ucr.edu or your RSO.
How do dining dollars work UCR?
The plan allows 50 Meal Swipes per quarter, plus 210 Dining Dollars per quarter to spend at any campus venue or market. Not available to students in the Residence Halls. If you enjoy cooking in your own apartment, the Market Plan provides $300 in Dining Dollars per quarter and no Meal Swipes.
Where can I use my dining dollars UCSD?
Resident dining plan Dining Dollars are linked to your campus ID card, and can be used in all UC San Diego Dining Services restaurants and markets.
Do dining dollars expire?
Dining dollars come with your meal plans and carry over from Fall to Spring but will expire at the end of final exams in the Spring semester.
Does UCR have a dress code?
No jeans, medical scrubs, swim attire, pants with rivets or zippers, or any material deemed to damage equipment is not permitted. A top, bottoms, and closed-toed athletic shoes (non-marking soles) are required. No boots, open-toed shoes, or high heels allowed.

Lothian Residential Restaurant
Lothian Residential Restaurant features six outstanding food stations that provide a wide array of fresh, delicious and delectable foods. It also offers a large variety of beverages that will satisfy any thirst, taste or appetite. Our daily rotisserie menu is sure to satisfy the discerning palate.
Glasgow Residential Restaurant
Glasgow Residential Restaurant is adjacent to Dundee Residence Hall. The venue includes a Scotty's convenience store with a selection of grab-n-go sandwiches, salads, hot/cold beverages, frozen foods, ice cream, and snacks as well as health and personal care items.
Special Dietary Needs
We offer vegetarian and vegan meals throughout our dining venues daily. When checking our menu, look for the green (V) next to the menu item. Some locations offer Halal chicken and gluten-free options.
