In partnership with local businesses like Timmy Flynn’s Red Pepper Deli & Grill, Bread Garden Market, Oasis-The Falafel Joint, Cookies & More, and Molly's Cupcakes, the Rooftop Café provides beverages, snacks, soups, and sandwiches to patients, visitors, and hospital staff in a comfortable lounge atmosphere.
The A la Carte Room Service for Patients
Our patients receive all their meals and snacks through the A la Carte Room Service for Patients program. You can choose your meals and snacks from the appropriate menu ordered by your physician. Dial “1-2-3” from your room telephone to place your order, and within 45 minutes, your meal will be delivered to your bedside.
Coffee Stands
There are several places to find a good cup of coffee. In addition to our full-service eating areas, Iowa City’s Bread Garden Café has four coffee stands located in high traffic areas of the hospital.
Food Carts
Products from the Rooftop Café stock our food carts – mobile units serving beverages and snacks to our patients waiting for appointments in clinics throughout the hospital every weekday morning.

New hospital visitor screenings and restrictions
To protect the health of our patients and their families, we are limiting the number of public entrances to our hospital. Additionally, patients and visitors entering the hospital will be screened for symptoms of the flu and COVID-19. These include: fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
