How do meal plans work?

What are dining dollars in college?
Much like Declining Balance Accounts (DBA), Dining Dollars are a debit system allowing for quick purchasing. Dining Dollars; however, may only be used in dining locations, whereas DBA can be used to purchase other merchandise and services at locations such as the bookstore, Devil's Den, and mail center.
When can I change my meal plan UIUC?
Meal plans may be changed before the contract begins, or you may wait until after you arrive on campus. Visit the Housing website to see the deadline for each semester and to submit a request to change your meal plan online. You may roll over up to one week's worth of your old plan's Dining Dollars to your new plan.
Does UIUC have fall break?

Can you bring in a guest on a classic meal?
Classic Meals are for your use only and cannot be used to bring in a guest. If you would like to bring a guest, you may use Dining Dollars, Illini Cash or a credit card.
Can you transfer dining dollars to another person?
Classic Meals, Dining Dollars and Illini Cash are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another person.
Can I use Illini Cash for a meal?
Illini Cash is not part of a meal plan but can be purchased as a supplement and is accepted in all dining locations. Swipe your i-card to use Illini Cash. The default payment for a meal in an all-you-can-eat location is for a Classic Meal to be deducted from your weekly allotment.
