What food will be served on my United flight?
On all United Airlines international flights (except Caribbean/Latin America) you will receive a complimentary three-course meal in economy class. This will include a salad, bread, main course and dessert; also you will receive a mid-flight snack of a sandwich or sweet treat on flights over 12 hours.

Do you have to pay for food and drinks on a plane?
On budget airlines, you will pay for snacks and drinks as well as meals. Don't buy plane food elsewhere if it's included in your airfare. Don't assume it's not included. When you book your flight, it's easy enough to make a quick check of the food offerings.

Beverages
Non-alcoholic beverages are complimentary and available on all flights. You may not see our flight attendants in the aisle as frequently right now, but sealed beverages are available upon request, so please let them know if you need anything. We’re not currently selling alcohol on board.

For flights under 2 hours and 20 minutes, we won’t have snacks available, but you’re always welcome to bring your own snacks on board.
How long before flight can you choose your meal?
You can choose your meal starting five days before your departure and up to 24 hours before your flight. If you don't choose a meal during that timeframe, a flight attendant will ask for your meal preference on board.
How far in advance can you preorder meals?
Preorder meals are only available in the premium cabin on certain eligible flights, so we’ll only send you a notification five days in advance if you're traveling on an eligible flight. Once you receive the notification, you’ll be able to choose your meal for any eligible flights up to 24 hours before departure.
Where can I pre-order meals on a first class flight?
domestic flights in first-class, special meals are available for pre-order on flights over 2,000 miles such as New York/Newark and Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and from the continental U.S. to Hawaii and vice versa.
When do you have to order special meals?
SPECIAL MEALS. SPECIAL MEALS. Economy Class. Must be ordered at least 24 hours before departure and are available in economy class on trans-Atlantic, trans-Pacific, intra-Pacific flights as well as South American flights to/from Argentina, Brazil and Peru.
What is a Polaris meal tray?
You will receive a meal tray consisting of a hot meal, salad, snack and dessert. Polaris will have a choice of three entrees (including a vegetarian option). Pre-packaged food options will be offered for second service or mid-flight meal service. Meals are served on one tray, rather than course by course service.
Does United Airlines refill cups?
United will stop refilling used cups and glasses in all cabins. If you request a refill, flight attendants will provide a new cup or glass. All tableware, dishes, cutlery and glassware used in premium cabins will be thoroughly washed and sanitised. The airline has re-introduced the hot beverage service on most flights.
