When did Arugula Bistro open?
Opened in 1996, Arugula Bistro has been serving the bustling center of West Hartford for over twenty-five years. In 1996 chef/owner Christiane Gehami and co-chef Michael Kask opened a tiny 8 seat restaurant that expanded greatly only 2 years later. In January of 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, we decided to fix our kitchen floors...this turned into a full renovation! In May we reopened with the same comfortable, cozy, vibe...new look, and the addition of an 8-seat wooden bar that fits gloriously in our dining room...the menu is comprised of Mediterranean-inspired dishes, using Middle Eastern, Northern Italian & French flavors. A late-night bar menu, along with a brunch menu round out our offering...Everything is still prepared in-house, including desserts. We believe in bringing people together over glorious food, easy-drinking wines, a comfortable dining experience, and a lot of love.
