MOROCCAN AND MIDDLE EASTERN FINE DINING
One of Andalucia’s prime eating destinations the Jardín del Califa serves authentic Moroccan and Middle Eastern food in stone vaulted dining rooms with a lush palm-filled courtyard. Set in an emblematic 16th century building the Jardín del Califa has been recommended by the MICHELIN guide since 2008.
BOOK A TABLE
Due to consistent popularity the demand for tables is high. We highly recommend you make a reservation for dinner at any time & for lunch especially Easter week, public holidays & June to October.
El Aljibe
This unique space is our smallest dining room with just one table for a maximum of 7. The ‘Aljibe’ is the interior of an ancient water cistern dating back to the 10th. or 11th. of Vejer’s Islamic era. There are few places in the world where you can dine literally with the weight of history above you.
El Templo
The barrel vaulted ‘Templo’ dates back to 1527 and its chapel like feeling gave us the inspiration for its name. The stonework is in exceptionally fine condition and like the rest of our restaurant is romantically lit. There are five tables for 2, a table for 5 and two tables for 4. For special groups this dining room can be set up in banquet form.
La Pergola
The Pergola is our covered dining room overlooking the garden. In summer the glass curtain is removed leaving the entire space open to the courtyard. While stone arches frame one end of the room the pergola is illuminated with artisan Moroccan lamps and candles. There are four tables for 2, five tables for 4 and a table for 8.
El Jardín
A summer night under the stars with the scent of jasmine in the air and the tinkle of a fountain to serenade you or a winter lunch in the dappled shade of our palm trees can be one of the most memorable moments of a visit to Vejer.

Calafia is a nickname for the microbuses found on the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, the same streets where family vendors serve the delicious tacos that are our inspiration. And if you go to a taqueria in Tijuana you won't find enchiladas and posole, only delicious, handmade tacos.
