What does Choolaah mean?
clay ovenChoolaah means clay oven. It's a fresh take on the timeless Indian experience, sanja chulha, where family and friends gather around a community oven to reconnect. Indian Barbeque, by the Choolaah definition, is farm-to-table: fresh meats, breads and vegetarian ingredients, as well as cooked at high heats (up to 700◦).

Owners Raji Sankar and Randhir Sethi are planning for an Aug. 16 opening of their newest Choolaah Indian BBQ restaurant in the South Park Square plaza on U.S. Route 224, in front of the former Kmart site.

Choolaah is the vision of co-CEO's Raji Sankar and Randhir Sethi of Pittsburgh-based Wholesome International. Choolaah's ultra-cool dining space surrounds custom created tandoor clay ovens that fast-cook guest orders at 600° to juicy perfection.
How many Choolaah locations are there?
Street foods like samosas and pav bhaji are also available to order. Since opening in Orange Village seven years ago, Choolaah has expanded to have five locations in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. The Ohio City spot will be the chain's sixth business.
