What do high schools offer for school lunches?
Some high schools offer freshly made, custom made deli subs. Students choose from a whole grain sub roll, flatbread or tortilla and then choose their meat and cheese and then load it up with veggies, topping it off with their choice of homemade dressings. This is available at their usual free, reduced, or paid meal price.

What does it mean when a student is cut from class?
class cut occurs when a student is absent from class for more than 5 minutes without permission from the teacher or authorization from the office to do so. Students who become ill or need to see a counselor or administrator during class time should first report to class, obtain permission to be excused, and get a written pass from the teacher.
Where can I leave forgotten items in the school?
Parents/guardians may leave forgotten items such as lunches or instruments on the ‘pick up’ table in the front office area. Students will be notified to come to the front office to retrieve the item.
Can a student withdraw from a charter school without penalty?

A student who is suspended or expelled from a charter school as a result of a disciplinary action taken by a charter school shall be entitled to enroll in a local school within the local school system in which the student resides if, under the disciplinary policy of the local school system, such student would not have been subject to suspension or expulsion. In such instances, the local school system shall not be required to independently verify the nature or occurrence of the applicable conduct, or any evidence relating thereto.
Can a student skip a class?

Can you bring lunch to school in Central Jersey?
Students may purchase a nutritious lunch in the school cafeteria or may bring their lunch from home. The cost and payment options for student lunch is provided on the school website and at Orientation Day. When sending lunches from home, please be sure to pack a nutritionally balanced lunch for your child. Do not send fast-food or soda to school for lunch. Foods high in sugar, such as candy, are not appropriate for school. Central Jersey College Prep adheres to a Wellness Policy that discourages serving foods to children that have little or no nutritional value. Do not send glass containers or glass water bottles with your child to school.

Each entrée salad meal includes bread or grain (such as whole grain crackers or the bread of the day) and milk. At some schools, due to cold holding limitations, your student may have to ask the server for the salad if it is not on display on the serving line. Just ask!
Is WJCC offering free summer meals?
WJCC Schools is once again offering a FREE summer meal program for students. “Grab and Go” meals can be picked up every Thursday morning. Families can stop by between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. to receive meals for the next seven days. Please note that neighborhood deliveries of “Grab and Go” meals are not available.

Does WJCC have a garden?
WJCC has some successful school and community gardens that are able to contribute herbs and produce to school cafeterias. Agricultural literacy is a goal of our farm to school program. Students take great pride in knowing some of the food comes from their own garden, where they have learned, tended, and harvested.
