Happening Now at Discovery Elementary
Just before lunch on a recent Wednesday, Discovery Elementary Principal Kathy Keegan uses the intercom to call all of that week’s “Extraordinary Eagles” down to the lunchroom. The halls fill with excited voices as the students nominated walk hurriedly to meet Keegan at the stage.

Meet Principal Kathy Keegan!
Hi, Eagle families! Being a principal is awesome because it gives me the chance to build strong relationships with staff, students and families, which helps set up a foundation for academic success. A few fun things about me: I love historical fiction, such as the “Little House on the Prairie” series, which hooked me as a reader in third grade.
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
MTSS is shaping the student experience at our school and throughout our district. Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, or MTSS, is a nationally recognized, evidence-based framework guiding our approach to academics, social emotional learning, behavior and attendance.
Early Childhood Education
Discovery is one of three locations in the district where ECE Classrooms are currently located. Students with a variety of special needs are served within the ECE classroom setting, along with students who participate in the program as Community Peers.

APS information on neighborhood transfers for the 2022-23 is now available.
Purple Star Town Halls
Four national Town Halls for military-connected families will be held in January and February.
