In 1940, the brother of Cuellar went to Dallas to operate a restaurant at El Chico in the region of Oak Lawn. By 1950, there were five prosperous eateries. In 1961 the Six Flags Amusement Park was founded by Angus Wynne Jr. in Arlington and urged them to open a restaurant in Mexico. El Chico is a South American restaurant franchise.
