they way i do it is to adjust it, same as radio, at the time when the voice is broadcasting.

Yes, the only way I know of is to adjust the volume while the navigator is speaking, then it retains that volume level for the navigator. It also has a separate volume for traffic announcements. I've so far found Classic FM to be the only station that has marked traffic announcements, which is cool because it's the station I listen to mostly.
