Does gbapsd provide free meals to students?

The USDA has extended the flexibility for school districts to provide free meals to students, and GBAPSD Food Service Department has elected to participate in this program. All students are eligible for meals at no charge.

Do I qualify for free school meals through SSO?

The eligibility status, however, is not required for the free school meals through SSO but it does establish eligibility for other benefits, such as state reporting, Pandemic EBT (P-EBT), and other community programs. Students must take at least 1/2 cup fruit and/or veggie at breakfast and lunch plus two other items to make a no-cost meal.

Is lunch available in Green Bay?

Lunch is available daily in all Green Bay Area Public Schools. Breakfast is available in all schools, except Leonardo da Vinci School for Gifted Learners and Wequiock Elementary. Both elementary and secondary schools offer nutritious and delicious meal choices that meet the USDA requirements.

How to print nutrislice menu?

Just click the print icon (top, right) and select your print settings in the right sidebar. Check the box to fit to page. You can also check boxes to include specific nutritional information in the print out.

How long before a menu is available?

In general, monthly menus are available a week to two weeks prior to the coming month.

Can you use meal plan funds for meals?

Meal plan funds can be used for complete meals only. A La Carte funds can be used for meals and/or additional/extra items (snacks, water, juice, etc) Purchase of extra items (snacks, water, juice) will only be allowed if there are funds available in the a la carte portion of the account.

Do secondary schools have lunch?

Secondary Schools: We do not receive lunch counts at higher grades. However, if a student will be purchasing these meals on a regular basis, it would be helpful to let our cafeteria or the Director of Food Services know in advance. Vegetarian and gluten free meals are indicated on the school menu.

What is Gilbert Public Schools Nutrition Services Department?

The Gilbert Public Schools Nutrition Services Department is made up of an experienced team of nutrition professionals that are dedicated to providing our students with the best possible dining experience.

Who is GPS Nutrition Services?

GPS Nutrition Services employs three Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) who work with other health professionals to create customized diets for students who have special dietary needs. Complete our Special Dietary Needs Form and return it to the GPS Nutrition Services Department. The form must be completed by a physician, physician assistant, registered dietitian nutritionist, or nurse practitioner.

What is the offer versus serve system?

We participate in a nutrition service system called "Offer versus Serve", offering a variety of healthy choices to our students each day including whole grains, fresh fruits & vegetables, lean meats, and low-fat milk.
