4. Hickory House BBQ
When it comes to pulled pork, I’m a bit of snob. I will not endorse any old Jim Bob or Cooter with a smoker and I am especially leery of barbecue prepared in a theme park. But pride be damned, it’s good. It’s Southern and it’s quick service. Also, they’ve got chicken tenders and fries if your kids are a little choosy like mine.
3. Till & Harvest Food Hall
Look, even I can’t believe I’m about to hit send on a story in which I recommend the Smoky Mountain Mexican eatery at Dollywood, okay? But I cannot tell a lie. I was there when they opened Wildwood Grove. I sampled the food. It was really good and I’ve been back. Wildwood Grove is such an interesting space within the park.
1. Market Square Big Skillets
I probably tipped this one, but Market Square Big Skillets is my happy place. Giant skillets frying steak and sausage sandwiches right next to a funnel cake stand? I skip. Not physically, but in my mind. I skip as we approach Market Square. I am happy. I am joyous. The menu changes year round but I love everything about it.
How much is a Dollywood mug?
Dollywood also offers refillable mugs that can be bought as a day mug ($14.99) or a season mug ($29.99) that allows you to save loads of dollars on drinks throughout the park all year long. See my fellow Insider Kelly’s blog post about mugs to learn more about this promotion.

Is eating at Dollywood on a budget?
Eating at Dollywood on a Budget. More often than not when thinking about eating at a theme park, most people’s first thought is dollar signs. Eating at Dollywood does not have to be expensive if you know what to look for while in the park. It is easier than you might think to save a few dollars and stretch your budget while visiting Dollywood.
What does the Market Square smell like?
These are the famous big skillets that draw you into Market Square with their homey smells of cooking meats, peppers and onions. One side, usually on the right as you enter, features thinly sliced steak while the one on the left cooks sausages, both for sub-type sandwiches with the peppers and onions.

What is Miss Lillian's buffet?
This buffet restaurant focuses on smoked and fried chicken, carved meats, southern sides, plus a salad and dessert bar. The biggest draw here might be Miss Lillian herself, a very entertaining long-time park character that you can also find outside the restaurant and prior to some shows on the Valley Stage. She’s a hoot, and very entertaining for kiddos.
Is Dollywood open for lunch?
A general word about counter-service meals at Dollywood, especially during the week or in the off-season: most places are open in the afternoonish hours. Often, they don’t open with the park and shut down several hours before closing. That makes them a good bet for lunch, but it might be hit or miss for dinner. I have often wanted a quick meal around 6 pm, only to find all the counter service windows closed. During the summer months and on weekends with higher attendance, they tend to stay open longer.
