Is there a wait at Karilagan?
After spending 15 mins watching the unorganized and overwhelmed staff buzz about, and not being greeted, we walked over to Karilagan. While the place was 80-90% full, there was no wait so we were quickly seated. It's a no frills place whose decor cannot match that of the other restaurant.
Where is Karilagan located?
It's tough to find a Filipino restaurant with a high overall star rating. Karilagan is located in a section of El Camino that I never bother to stop and check out. Apparently this is sorta like a local's area. There is street parking available and if you're curious to check out some places a nearby, you might see some other interesting restaurants you never knew about.
Is Karilagan a frills place?
Karilagan is no frills but it seems a lot of locals of many generations come here. They're prompt with their service and although they don't go out of their way to accommodate you, they're fast and efficient. The bathrooms were a little scary so if you don't want to lose your appetite, I would advise that you go after you've eaten.
Is Karilagan unassuming?
Karilagan is very unassuming, but the dishes are delicious.
