Why do students eat?
More Time on Learning. When students have eaten, they are better able to concentrate and behave in the classroom. This allows teachers to spend more time on teaching and less time on discipline.
Can nutrition services be responsible for ensuring that a child's menu selections are free from allergens?
The Nutrition Services Department cannot be responsible for ensuring that a child’s menu selections are free from allergens. Students with life-threatening food allergies are encouraged to bring meals from home.
Does Torrance Unified School District have food substitutions?
Torrance Unified School District will make food substitutions or accommodations for students with disabilities. Substitutions for these students must be prescribed by a state licensed healthcare professional.*

Why do you need to prepay for lunch?
Prepaid meal accounts help the lunch lines go faster and give students more time to eat, relax, and play. It also gives you the peace of mind of not having to worry about looking for lunch money every day or worry that it might get lost, stolen or used for things other than lunch.
How does Titan School Solutions work?

Titan Family is a complete service that is designed to meet increasing parental demands on school districts for the ability to check account balances and see their child’s food purchases as well as apply for meals and other benefits. This service helps parents by eliminating worries about lost or stolen lunch money and they can make payments whenever it’s convenient, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Please allow 24-48 hours for payments to post to your student's account.
How to send money to school?
If you choose to bring money to school personally or send it with your student, please put it in an envelope clearly marked with the student's first and last name, their ID #, their teacher's name, and the amount enclosed.
