Whats the difference between a roomette and a bedroom on Amtrak?
Each bedroom has the capacity of two adults (with an option for a third), one to two suitcases and are 6'6” x 7'6”. Unlike roomettes, our bedrooms also have an in-room toilet, shower and a sofa that converts to a bed. Travelers looking to stretch out and upgrade from our roomette should explore our bedroom option.
How is food on Amtrak?
The food served, as previously mentioned, is tasty. Don't expect Michelin star quality; this is a moving train, after all. What is the dessert on the train?
The meals come with a side salad, roll and dessert as well as a drink of choice. The dessert choices are a chocolate brownie and a toffee crunch blondie brownie. On a few trains we did also have the option of some cookies, but that seems to be more available from time to time.

You are free to eat your food in your seat in coach, the lounge car or in your roomette.
