What is the Student Dining Room?
Located in the lower level of the Alumni Student Center, the Student Dining Room (SDR) contains a wide variety of healthy, fresh food options. Along with the main entrée, we serve a vegetarian option, deli bar, pizza, a variety of desserts and have a non-certified gluten free area which is accessible to students qho have ben approved for a gluten free accomadatin (see Meal Plan Accommodations section). The SDR is the primary place for students to build community within their floors.
Does Moody's save money?
There are no transaction fees associated with the Dining Services Funds as there are with credit cards. So, Moody saves money each time you use your Dining Services Funds instead of your credit card, and all Dining Services revenue goes right back into the Institute.
What is Joe's coffee?
This student-run coffee shop offers a wide variety of high quality espresso drinks, regular drip coffee, teas, smoothies and pastries. Joe’s hosts live music, provides a popular gathering space, and aims to support the creativity of the student body.
What is the MBI mission?
Our goal is to motivate the MBI community to serve Christ by exceeding expectations with fresh, wholesome meals while displaying Christ-like service and attitude as we follow through in our responsibilities.
How to change meal plan at Moody?
If students would like to change their meal plan they will only need to contact the Dining Services Office at (312) 329-4324 or diningservices@moody.edu by the end of the second week of classes each semester. Unless otherwise requested, each student will remain on the meal plan in which they are currently enrolled.
Can you add funds to student fobs?
Funds can be added to student fobs or to a Dining Services Card to make quicker and easier purchases at any of our Dining Services locations. One favored spot is Joe’s: our unparalleled, student-run coffee shop which offers a relaxing atmosphere for studying or breaks. We also have The Commons, our premier retail café where they can quickly grab freshly made grill options, pre-made sandwiches, or their desired snack.
Is SDR a vegetarian restaurant?
Along with the main entrée, we serve a vegetarian option, deli bar, pizza, a variety of desserts and have recently added a non-certified gluten-free corner.
Is Moody Dining Services open?
Moody Dining Services is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our campus. All our Dining Services operations are currently open. The SDR Servery has returned to normal operations. The self-serve areas will be open, and students are encouraged to use the available hand sanitizer prior to serving themselves. The dining room tables will be set up six feet apart with one third having table partitions. Since the dining room will only be able to seat 330 students, extended hours will continue to be in effect and the old bookstore, and the Commons will still be available for overflow seating. While we will be serving our meals on regular plates, if you need to take your meal to-go, please let us know so we can package it for carryout.
Is Joe's open in the Commons?
The Commons is open with our full grill menu, the Signature Station offering made-to-order salads and sandwiches, and personal pizzas. In addition, the self-serve salad bar will be open, and students and staff are encouraged to use the available hand sanitizer prior to serving themselves. JOE's is fully operational with our premium coffee service. Their menu also includes smoothies, teas, and seasonal drinks. Feel free to browse our webpage for more details regarding hours and menus. What are the requirements for Moody Bible Institute?
The requirement of the meal plan for on-campus Chicago students is twofold: 1 Since Moody Bible Institute offers a tuition-paid education (Chicago), we are not able to make the meal plan an optional element for the on-campus student experience. 2 The community and fellowship that exists within the Student Dining Room are impossible to duplicate in any other setting. It is strongly encouraged for those who are not required to use the meal plan still participate in the SDR meals.
When is meal replacement time in Commons?
All students registered on the meal plan are allowed to replace missed meals with a meal replacement in The Commons during a general meal replacement time of Monday-Friday from 1:45PM-4:00PM.
