Iron Chef Morimoto
Chef Masaharu Morimoto started studying the delicate Japanese beauty of sushi after a shoulder injury ended his career as a baseball catcher in Japan. After quickly catching on to the art of sushi, he opened his first restaurant at age 24. At 29, he moved to the United States to open up his culinary repertoire.
Accomplishments and Awards
Starting with his first U.S.-based restaurant in 2001 in Philadelphia, Chef Morimoto has continued to open restaurants across the states and the world. He has launched product lines beyond the restaurant industry like beer, premium sake, grape-seed oil, and knives.

Though he now has restaurants across the globe, his restaurant Morimoto Las Vegas in the MGM Grand melds his love for the culinary traditions of Japan with the American palate.

Morimoto Las Vegas is located in The District at the MGM Grand Resort. You can get to The District from the front desk by going through the Casino towards the KA Box Office. After you pass Wolfgang Puck, turn right, and you’ll see The District. Once you arrive at The District, the restaurant is on the right.
