Claims Reimbursement and Reporting System (CRRS)

System used by schools and community agencies enrolled in USDA child nutrition programs through ODE to submit required data and apply for meal reimbursements.

Provision 2 Resources

Prior approval from the Office of Nutrition is required for participation in Provision 2.

Why is lunch menu subject to change?

Daily lunch menus are subject to change due to inclement weather or product availability. Any necessary changes will be on morning announcements. The last 3 weeks of school are "Cook's Choice" on all menus.

Where do you send cash to a student?

Cash/Check may also be submitted by your student, at the beginning of the school day, to their teacher or cafeteria and will be applied to their account by lunch time. Cash/Check must be placed in an envelope with the student's name.

Can you buy snacks in grades?

Students in all grades will be allowed to purchase extras or ala carte items such as snacks, cookies, chips, etc. as long as they have money available on their meal account.

Do you have to be a family to get free meals?

There is nothing required from families to start receiving free meals. All students will have the opportunity to obtain a free breakfast each morning as they enter the building and a free lunch by going through the cafeteria line during their lunch period.

Is there a waiver for free breakfast in 2020?

The USDA has extended the waiver allowing ALL students (regardless of their paid/free/reduced status) to receive both FREE breakfast and FREE lunch daily for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.

What can schools serve outside of meal program?

Truth: All schools have strict guidelines as to what they can serve outside of the meal program. This means their chips are baked, ice cream is reduced sugar or fat, and portion sizes are age-appropriate. Additionally, healthy items, such as reduced-fat cheese, whole grain graham crackers, raisins, fresh fruits, and vegetables are available to purchase a la carte.

What is the National School Lunch Program?

The School Nutrition Department operates the National School Lunch Program, which is a USDA program aimed at providing healthy, affordable lunches to school students. A hungry child cannot learn!

Truth: For fruit, schools are required to offer 1/2 cup to K-8 grade students and 1 cup to 9-12 grade students (2). For students aged 9-13, that accounts for 1/3 of their daily requirement! (4)
