We don't take reservations at either of our very popular, award-winning restaurants, The Old Mill and the Pottery House Cafe. It's always first come, first served. Wait times are hard to predict prior to your visit.

How long has the Old Mill restaurant been around?

The restaurant opened its doors in the fall of 1993. It was in 1995 when the Stout/Simmons family, who had owned and operated the grist mill and adjoining general store for about 67 years, decided to sell.

Who owns the old mill?

The Great Depression affects businesses nationwide. The mill falls into the hands of the Bank of Sevierville and 6 months later is bought by Fred Stout in 1933. The Stout family would be the longest owners of the mill, for 62 years, passing it on to their daughter, Kathy Stout Simmons.”

200 years oldThe Old Mill in Pigeon Forge is almost 200 years old. The Old Mill is one of the oldest structures in the area. A man named Mordecai Lewis moved to Tennessee from Virginia and bought the land the mill sits on. His grandson, William Love, built the mill in 1830 to grind corn.
