Why does Peoria unified change its menu?
While it is Peoria Unified’s goal to serve the food items posted on our menus each day, there is a national supply chain challenge on food availability at this time. This means that on occasion, we need to change our menu with little to no notice in some of our schools.
How do I pay for the Peoria lunch fund?
Cash or check made out to 'Peoria Lunch Fund' is always accepted in your student's cafeteria. Students are allowed two charges. After the second charge, students are given the alternative meal. A phone call will be made to parents after two charges. All charges are to be paid promptly to the cafeteria.
Where can you get free summer food in Peoria this summer?
Thanks to the USDA Summer Food Service Program for Children, the Peoria Unified School District will provide breakfast and lunch curbside free to any child this summer, age 18 and under. Lunch and breakfast will be served at 12 school sites and a snack and dinner will be available at the Peoria Community Center.
What is Peoria Unified School Lunch?
Peoria Unified takes part in the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Summer Food Service Program for Children and Commodity Food Program. We offer a variety of nutritious food choices including a fruit and vegetable bar where student can choose from a minimum of 5 different healthy options. We also offer at least 1 vegetarian option each day. Menus are analyzed to ensure nutritional content is consistent with the regulations set forth by the United States Department of Agriculture.#N#All schools utilize the offer vs. serve meal service. This means that all students are offered five different food groups, but are allowed to decline groups.Government and State regulations require students to take ½ cup of fruits and/or vegetable as part of their meal; however, they are no longer required to take milk. Milk may be purchased from the lunch line even if the student is not getting lunch from the cafeteria. Students can purchase milk using their account or cash. A carton of milk is 35-cents.#N#Additional a la carte items may be offered during the lunch period to 6th graders through 12th graders. If you do not wish for your student to purchase these additional items with their accounts, you can set restrictions through MySchoolBucks.com.

Attendance Guarantees
Food Service anticipates minor changes both upward and downward for events. A Final Guarantee (number of guests and/or item quantities) must be submitted three business days prior to your event.
Hours
Our regular hours are from 7am to 3pm, Monday through Friday. Late afternoon, evening, and weekend functions are available with an additional charge.
Menu Terms
On rare occasions, Food & Nutrition may be required to make substitutions due to product availability, market conditions, and/or any other extenuating circumstances. We reserve the right to make such changes when deemed prudent and necessary. Advance notice will be made to the customer whenever possible.
Minimums
Package "Meal” style menus (Breakfast Meals, Sandwich Meals, and Hot Meals) are sold per person (noted as “pp”next to the price) and require a minimum of 10 guests to order.
Cancellations
Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled event will incur a 30% cancellation fee to cover all costs incurred by Food & Nutrition.
Supplemental Staffing
Functions requesting an attendant (s) will be subject to additional labor charges. Costs will depend on the number of employees needed as well as he length of the event.
Facilities Set Up
The customer is responsible for securing a location as well as the table set up.
