The United States Department of Agriculture waiver that allowed Plano ISD to provide free meals to all students during the 2021-22 school year is set to expire. Plano ISD will resume charging for meals during the 2022-23 school year based on student eligibility for meal benefits.
When does school start in Plano ISD?

What is Plano ISD’s socioeconomic form?

Amid tears of joy and celebratory cheers, 102 Plano ISD teachers in 52 schools were surprised on Friday, November 5 with 2021 Grants to Educators totaling $125,000. Funded annually by the Plano ISD Education Foundation and business sponsors, these grants help Plano ISD educators enhance instruction in schools and classrooms across the district.

Effective August 2, 2021
Food served in the cafeteria consists of the five food groups; meat/meat alternate, grains, vegetables, fruits, and milk. In order for a student breakfast to be considered reimbursable, the meal must include a minimum of three food items, one of which must be a fruit.

Funding
Plano Independent School District, Food and Nutritional Service is 100% self-supporting and does not receive local tax support. The only sources of revenue are from federal and state reimbursements, money paid by students and adults. These revenues pay for labor, benefits, food, supplies, equipment, and repairs.

Updated Guidelines for Schoolwide Events
Due to rising COVID related case numbers in our community, the district has updated the guidelines for schoolwide events and activities to protect the health and wellbeing of Plano ISD students and staff. These revised guidelines will be in place through February 4, 2022, and will be reevaluated at that time.

Student Activities for Saturday Postponed or Cancelled
All Plano ISD student events and activities will be cancelled or postponed for Saturday morning, afternoon and evening, February 5, 2022, due to the continued potential for ice and unsafe driving conditions. Read more.
Superintendent Sara Bonser Announces Retirement
After 33 years of service in public education (25 of those years in Plano ISD), Superintendent Sara Bonser informed the Plano ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday, January 25, that she will retire as superintendent at the end of this school year in order to spend more time with family at a critical time.
