Does the University of Chicago Medicine offer dining options?

The University of Chicago Medicine offers many dining options at our Hyde Park campus for patients and visitors, from freshly prepared, hot meals to grab-and-go snacks and drinks. Learn more about the restaurants and other food services in the different buildings and locations on our Hyde Park campus.

Is dine-in service available at UChicago restaurants?

At this time, dine-in service at these UChicago Dining establishments is limited to UChicago students and employees. Visitors and the general public are welcome to enjoy take-away service at locations offering it. We hope to fully reopen dine-in services to all guests in the near future.

Where can I eat vegan at UChicago dining?

If a student chooses to eat vegetarian or vegan, UChicago Dining offers daily rotating selections at the Rooted stations, which can be found in all four Dining Commons. Peanuts and tree nuts are not used in any of UChicago Dining’s kitchens.

The meal exchange program allows you to use a select number of your meal swipes on a meal at the campus cafes, campus markets, or Hutchinson Commons. The meal will be deducted from your total number of meals, rather than from your Maroon Dollar balance, based on how many meal exchanges come with your plan.

What are maroon dollars?

What are Maroon Dollars? Maroon Dollars are what we call the pool of funds that come with a student meal plan. Maroon Dollars are tax-exempt and allow students to use their University ID's like a debit card at participating food locations on campus. One Maroon Dollar is equivalent to $1.

Where can I use dining dollars Luc?

Dining Dollars can be used at any time in any on-campus dining location, including the Food Court, Coffee Shops/Cafes, and Residential Dining Halls. Unused meals are cleared at the end of each semester.

Do maroon dollars carry over?

There are no refunds for unused meals. Remaining Maroon Dollar balances will roll over to future quarters, but always expire at the end of the spring quarter.

What are M&G dollars?

Maroon and Gold Dollars (M&G Dollars) are declining balance dollars placed on your ASU ID that work like a debit card to be used at any Sun Devil Dining location across all four campuses. They are dollar for dollar. M&G Dollars are included in majority of meal plans but can be purchased separately starting at $25.

Where can I spend maroon dollars Uchicago?

Maroon Dollars may soon be able to be used at off-campus businesses like Insomnia Cookies and Seoul Taco, and students will have the option to pre-order food in campus cafés and Hutchinson Commons by fall 2021.

Do maroon dollars expire?

Maroon Dollars may be used at any dining venue on campus. They expire at the end of each semester which means they do not roll-over to the following semester.

What is on the Mexican menu?

The Mexican menu includes tacos, burritos, taco salad and more.

What time can you order a meal at the hospital?

Most patients receive restaurant-style room service. Patients and their visitors can order meals from a menu any time between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Second year nerves

Any other second years who are living on campus for the first time feeling nervous about this quarter? I don’t really know anyone and I’m nervous about making friends and being in social settings for the first time in a while. Can any upperclassman give me some advice?

o-week parties

Will it be hard to make friends if I don't want to go out during o-week, aside from the university sponsored parties like the glow party and the logan center party? I'm a social person but going out gives me anxiety for various reasons and I really don't want to disrupt my process of settling in with the sense of disorientation/anxiety I feel after partying.

Woodlawn exercise room

Is it true that there is an exercise room in Woodlawn? If so, is it open this year? What type of equipment is in it?

Where to go after arriving on campus

Does anyone know if we are supposed to go to our designated covid testing center as soon as we arrive or if we can first drop off our luggage at our dorms? This is for those moving into the school dorms. Thanks
