We ordered some appetizers to eat and enjoyed another round of drinks with a nice view of Lake Merritt. We ordered Seafood Deviled Eggs, Crab Cakes, and Buttermilk Fried Calamari . Everything was delicious, the deviled eggs were probably one of the best I've had!

About Us

The building that today houses the Lake Chalet Seafood Bar & Grill is located on the shore of Lake Merritt which was originally a tidal estuary formed by several creeks. The Lake gets its name from former Oakland Mayor Samuel Merritt who oversaw the damming and clean-up of the estuary in 1868.

I've had many a meal here, including hosting several large holiday parties in the main private dining room. The food and service is always consistently good, even. It won't ever be one of those knock your socks off dining experiences, yet you'll leave quite satisfied.
