What's new at the sea shanty Cafe?

Designed to make Trearddur Bay better for everybody, the 'new' Sea Shanty Cafe was born in a larger premises, licensed, with a larger kitchen, larger seating area and a larger menu, opening its doors in July 2016.

What is the history of the sea shanty?

Family owned and operated since 1983. The Sea Shanty is a local favorite. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Don't forget to save room for our famous desserts !!!

What kind of wine does sea shanty serve?

From a delightful Australian Pinot Gris to a light and fruity Italian Sangiovese or an easy drinking Zindfandel Rose. Some are available by the glass, some come served in one of our quirky Sea Shanty jugs and some by the bottle. We keep our wine menu small but this guarantees that each one is amazing. THE beers WE SELL.

Why choose Chartley for the sea shanty?

Working in partnership with small and large customers across the UK. Our relationship with them goes back to the 1990’s where Neil, one of our directors, discovered them whilst working for what was at the time a small pub company. This relationship has made Chartley the only choice for the Sea Shanty.

When did Sea Shanty Cafe close?

The old Sea Shanty Cafe closed in 2002 after 60 odd years of trading, and nothing seemed to be able to fill the hole that this loss left in Trearddur Bay. There was a desperate need to provide an amenity in the same place, but in a modern context and giving the Bay a proper sense of "place".

Where is Kelly's ice cream made?

Kelly’s is a manufacturer of ice cream based in Bodmin, Cornwall. It was founded in the 19th century in St Austell. Their ice cream is produced from milk and clotted cream farmed and pasteurised from a nearby farm at Trewithen.
